Genesys Electronics Design Pty Ltd has officially become a proud partner of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct. The partnership adds Genesys’ leading-edge MedTech product development capabilities to the precinct to foster greater collaboration between the healthcare industry, researchers, institutions, and the startup ecosystem.
A Groundbreaking Partnership for MedTech Innovation
Geoff Sizer, the founder of Genesys, expressed his excitement about the partnership, noting, “The Liverpool Innovation Precinct puts Liverpool on the global Medtech innovation map,” The Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research is a game-changing model, with plans to operate across three integrated centres across South Western Sydney in alignment with key research needs for the community identified by the Local Health District.”
The Perich Centre for Robotics, Medical Devices and Health Technology located at the Ingham Institute will bring cutting edge research. A interdisciplinary playground for assessing, accelerating and adopting innovations in health technologies. Within the precinct there are 3 world class universities, and it’s anchored by a $840m capital investment to transform Liverpool Hospital, creating a compelling link for clinical trials. The Australia New Zealand Biobridge extends this pool of research across the Tasman, connecting 13 universities, hospitals, independent and Crown research institutions. Why This Partnership Matters The partnership with the precinct provides an ideal platform for Genesys to apply its industry-leading MedTech capabilities to an environment that is uniquely positioned for growth.
“By investing in joining the precinct, Genesys will help commercialise the best of this research, in partnership with industry and entrepreneurs”, said George Bou-Rizk, Genesys’ Co-CEO. “In over 30 years of operation, Genesys has worked on some of the most significant Medtech innovations in Australia. We also build IP platforms, such as our wireless sensor platform, to accelerate innovation. We’re excited to bring this capability to the precinct to help make great products that make lives better.”
Liverpool Innovation Precinct director Lance Chia said, “The Liverpool Innovation Precinct was an inaugural member of The Global Institute on Innovations Districts’ global network, and the only one in NSW at the time. This invitation-only network has now grown to almost 50 innovation districts globally and expands our international connections and accelerates development. Having Genesys as a trusted partner adds significant and specialised technical and design capability to the Liverpool Innovation Precinct. Their wealth of experience developing cutting-edge medical devices will help the innovators we work with deliver novel solutions to global health challenges quicker, at reduced risk and at lower cost.”
As the precinct continues to grow, the collaboration between Genesys and its partners promises to unlock new possibilities in MedTech, further solidifying Liverpool as a key player in the global healthcare and technology landscape.
